It’s always nice to head to Raglan when the conditions are right and a few of the local crew are around. It’s also good to have winter behind us now. Lambs and calves litter the fields with a sense of springtime. Lines are stacked to the horizon. Billy Stairmand is back home from his demanding travel schedule chasing the elusive WQS dream, and we know we have a week to get some work done. I knock on his door on the morning of day one and am greeted by an excited, highly caffeinated, lolly fueled little man who is chomping at the bit to get some clips. Leon Santorik , Luke Hughes, Daniel Kereopa, Luke Cederman and a bunch of others are also around which always make it easier from a filming perspective. It’s definitely productive having a few good surfers in the water at one time. And Raglan is a productive place, period.
